AB de Villiers broke record of fastest 8000 ODIs runs

South African player AB de Villiers became the fastest batsman to reach 8000 One Day International (ODI) runs on 26 August 2015. de Villiers achieved the record during the 3rd ODI against New Zealand in Durban.South Africa won the match by 62 runs and also won the series by 2-1.

AB De Villiers, who went past 8000 runs in just his 182 innings,and broke the previous record held by former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly.

Ganguly achieved the record in 200 ODIs innings and the master blaster Sahin Tendulkar, the leading run-scorer in ODIs achieved it in 210 innings.

AB De Villiers currently holds the record for the fastest half-century, fastest century and the fastest 150 in ODIs.
