Arunima Sinha, the amputee mountaineer who set a record by climbing the Mount Everest on 25th December 2015, conquered Mount Aconcagua in Argentina.
Arunima started her mission on 12th December 2015 and hoisted the Indian tricolour on 25th December 2015.
With this, Arunima has successfully completed the 5th summit of the Mission 7 Summits and also became the 1st female amputee to climb Five Mountains of the World. The 4 other peaks conquered by her include Everest in Asia, Kilimanjaro in Africa, Elbrus in Europe, and Kosizko, Australia, as the world’s 4 highest peaks.
Aconcagua is the highest mountain outside Asia, at 6960.8 metres and by extension, the highest point in both the Western Hemisphere and the Southern Hemisphere.

Arunima who lost her left leg in a train accident in 2011 surprised the world by climbing Mt. Everest on 21 May 2013. Arunima was awarded the Padmashree for her achievement.
