India, US and Japan navies begins 2015 ,5 days Malabar Naval Exercise

India, United States and Japan navies kick off 5 days 2015 Malabar Naval Exercise of the eastern coast in Bay of Bengal and India Ocean. The complex trilateral exercise is part of annual series of exercises conducted to improve mutual security issues and multi-national maritime relationships.


Key facts


The 5 day exercise includes both at-sea training exercises and ashore exercises , that would share knowledge on anti-submarine warfare, carrier strike group operations and maritime patrol etc.

Military-to-military coordination, surface warfare exercise, air defence and submarine familiarisation sessions will be also undertaken.

The joint fleet of 3 navies will include aircraft carriers ,warships and fast attack submarines. Total Ten ships, 5 from India, 4 from US and 1 from Japan are participating.
