Union Cabinet has approved signing of (MoU) between India and Australia in fields of training and research:

On 20 August 2015 the Union Cabinet has approved the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)between India and Australia on co-operation in fields of training and research in education. The costs of the co-operative activities under this Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be funded on mutually agreed terms.


Objectives of this Memorandum of Understanding (MoU):

•Australia and India Education Council membership from time to time to ensure that appropriate representation from the academia, policy makers and the industry.

•The policy dialogue and exchange in areas of mutual benefit, including qualification and quality frameworks,and in other case standards for education, research and training.

• It will support mobility of students and faculty members through the formal exchange programs, internships.

• It will improve credit transfer arrangements.

• work towards qualifications recognition between Australia and India.

• Supporting and organizing professional development programmes for subject experts.

• Sharing best practice education materials including research materials, publications.

• Supporting skills development through joint conferences, seminars.

• It will also develop the bilateral programmes between institutions of educational excellence in technical, vocational, schools.
