North East-ASEAN Business Summit kicks off in Imphal

The 1st ever North East-ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) Business Summit kicked off in Imphal, Manipur with the Focus on road connectivity, trade & tourism. The 2 day summit has been organized by the Manipur Commerce & Industries Department in collaboration with the Union Ministries of External Affairs & Development of North-Eastern Region, Indian Chamber of Commerce or Indian Chamber of Service Industries.
Key facts:


  • The Summit aims at attracting investment from both domestic & foreign firms to the North-Eastern states to increase productivity & generate employment in the region.

  • Delegates from the member nation of the ASEAN viz. Myanmar, Vietnam, Cambodia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Brunei and 8 North-East states of the country are participating in the Summit.

  • Bangladesh in also participating.
