India’s 1st indigenously developed lightest revolver (Gun) Nidar weighing merely 250 GRAMS was successfully launched. It has been designed & manufactured by the state run Rifle Factory Ishapore located in the West Bengal giving boost to the ‘Make in India’ initiative in small manufacturing sector.
Key facts:
Nidar is much lighter than ‘Nirbheek’ (500 GRAMS) revolver which was exclusively designed for women.
Features:
- It is .22 caliber gun with a 40 mm barrel and is only 140 mm in length. It has a range Seven meters with precise accuracy.
- It has cylinder capacity of 8 bullets and made up of DTD 5124 alloy of aluminium which is very light in weight and has supreme metal strength.
