Roch Marc Christian Kabore elected as the President of the West African country Burkina Faso.
Kabore won the vote in the 1st round with 53.49% of ballots, which was enough to secure a 1st round victory.
Zephirin Diabre came in the 2nd place with 29.6% of the vote, and Tahirou Barry stood third with just 3% of the votes.
About Roch Marc Christian Kabore:
• Kabore served as the Prime Minister of Burkina Faso from 1994 -96.
• Marc served as the President of the National Assembly of Burkina Faso from 2002-12.
• In January 2014, he left the ruling Congress for Democracy and Progress and founded a new opposition party, the People’s Movement for Progress.
