Indian Navy’s guided missile destroyer INS Kochi off the western coast successfully test-fired BrahMos supersonic cruise missile.
Test: It was BrahMos missile’s 49th trial. It successfully hit 290km away stationary decommissioned ship “Alleppey” after performing complex manoeuvres.
Comment
This successful test provides much-needed leathal weapon to INS Kochi which is most modern indigenous destroyers, making it another asset of Indian Navy.
BrahMos as the prime strike weapon of the destroyer will also take care of its invincibility in engaging long range targets in seas.
