Vikalp scheme for waitlisted passengers has been launched by Indian Railways

Waitlisted passengers to get an alternative train accommodation through Vikalp scheme launched by Indian Railways.


This option will be limited to Mail and Express trains running on Delhi-Lucknow and Delhi-Jammu sectors for 6 months and this scheme is launched on the pilot basis.


The aim is of this scheme is to achieve two objectives


  • Providing committed accommodation to waitlisted passengers.

  • Ensure optimal exploitation of available accommodation for these passengers.
