Kashinath Singh chosen for the Bharat Bharti literary award 2014

Hindi litterateur Kashinath Singh has been chosen for Bharat Bharti literary award for year 2014, Singh has authoring many short-stories and novels. His most famous novel is Kashi ka Assi in2004, which captures the vibrant hues of Varanasi (famously known as Banaras). Kashi ka Assi novel has been adapted into the upcoming movie ‘Mohalla Assi’. Apart from him some other prominent writers were also chosen to the award in the various categories. They are Vinod Kumar Shukla (Hindi Gaurav), Mridula Garg (Lohia Sahitya), Krishna Mishra (Mahatama Gandhi Sahitya Samman), Ramkrishna Rajput (Avantibai Sahitya Samman) and Abhiraj Rajendra Mishra (Deendayal Upadhaya Sahitya Samman).
Bharat Bharti literary award:


  • The Bharat Bharti literary award is Uttar Pradesh highest literary award. Annually given by the UP Hindi Sansthan.

  • It carries a cash prize of Five lakh rupees.
