On 14 August 2015 Ajit Kumar Seth was appointed as the new Chairman of “Public Enterprises Selection Board” (PESB) . Ajit Kumar was appointed for a period of 3 years or till he attains 65 years of age.
Ajit Kumar Seth succeeded Atul Chaturvedi, who has retired. Prior to this appointment,Ajit Kumar Seth completed his extended tenure of 4 years at the Cabinet secretariat in June 2015.Ajit Kumar Seth is a 1974 batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh(UP) cadre.
The Other Appointments:
Moreover, 2 IAS officers Gauri Kumar and Anshuman Das were appointed as the members in (PESB) for a period of 3 years.
Gauri Kumar, a 1979 batch Gujarat cadre IAS officer, succeeded KM Acharya, who has completed his tenure. While Das, former CMD of National Aluminium Company Ltd, succeeded Ashwani Kumar Datt.
About Public Enterprises Selection Board:
•The Public Enterprises Selection Board is a high powered body constituted by the Union Government’s Resolution dated 3.March.1987.
• It was constituted with objective of evolving a sound managerial policy for the Central Public Sector Enterprises and to advise Govt. on appointments to top management posts.
