CCEA given its nod to National Watershed Management Project Neeranchal

World Bank assisted National Watershed Management Project- Neeranchal has been approved by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA).


The project will help to achieve objectives of Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana (PMKSY) for efficient use of water (Per Drop More Crop) and ensure access to irrigation to every farmland (Har Khet Ko Pani).


The project has been formed with an outlay of 2142 crore rupees. Of the total project cost Union Government’s share will be 1071.15 crore rupees (50 percent) and rest of the amount will be in form of loan from the World Bank.


It will be executed at the National level as well as in the 9 States. These states are Jharkhand, Maharashtra,Madhya Pradesh,Chattisgarh,Odisha,Andhra Pradesh,Gujarat,Rajasthan and Telangana.
