Dr. Amalendu Krishna has won Ramanujan Prize 2015. Dr. Krishna has been bestowed with this award for his best contributions in the area of algebraic-cycles, algebraic-K-theory and theory of motives.Dr. Krishna is mathematician professor at Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai. Dr. Krishna belong from Bihar and had completed his college and schooling education there.
About Ramanujan Prize:
- Established In 2005 It is named after the noted Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan.
- It recognizes a researcher from a developing country who has conducted outstanding research in a developing country and is less than 45 years of age.
Jointly awarded by:
- Italy based International Centre for Theoretical Physics, Department of Science and Technology of India and the International Mathematical Union.
Prize carries:
- Citation and a monetary prize of US 15,000 dollars. The winner is invited to give a talk at the ICTP.
- It should be noted that Dr. Krishna is the 2nd Indian to win this award. 1st was Sujatha Ramadorai who had won it in 2006.
