2904.04 crore rupees Revised Cost Estimate (RCE) for the Kaladan Multi Modal Transit Transport Project in Myanmar has been approved by the Union Cabinet .This Decision was taken at Union Cabinet meeting chaired by the Indian Prime Minister Mr. Naredra Modi in New Delhi,India.
About Kaladan Multi Modal Transit Transport Project
Objective: To built a multi-modal way of transport for cargo shipment from the eastern ports of India to Myanmar. It will contribute towards the regional economic development and provide an alternate access route to India’s north east region.
The strategic link will promote commercial, economic and strategic links between Myanmar and India as it will connect North-East, thereby reducing pressure on the Siliguri Corridor.
