Tata Trusts has inked a (MOU) Memorandum of Understanding with Andhra Pradesh Govt. to develop 264 smart villages.All 264 villages in the Vijayawada constituency will be developed in order to transform them into the smart villages. The project has been jointly undertaken by the local Lok Sabha MP Kesineni Srinivas and between the Tata Trust as part of Corporate Social Responsibility of Tata Group. As part of this initiative, the trusts will work in the educational area, drinking water, health and nutrition, self-employment for the youth. Around 2.5 lakh households in the all villages of this constituency will benefit from this project. The identified activities which will be under taken in this initiative are based on comprehensive household survey in all villages which was conducted by the Tata Trust.
