Usain Bolt has won world 200 metre title in the World Athletics Championships held in China. In the final of the event Bolt finished the race by 19.55 sec. easily outstripped his rival Justin Gatlin of US who won the silver medal. Bolt’s fourth consecutive world 200 metre title which he had won earlier in 2009 (Berlin,), 2011 ( South Korea) and 2013 (Moscow).
Records:
- He is the first man to win 6 Olympic gold medals in sprinting event and a ten-time World champion.
- Usain Bolt is the first athlete to hold both the 100 metres and 200 metres world records and also is the first to achieve the “double double” by winning 100 metres and 200 metres titles at consecutive Olympics (2008 and 2012).
